Sharon E. Sullivan, President/Owner
Offering more than 30 years of experience as a professional meeting and event planner, Sharon created Sullivan Custom Planning, Inc. in 1996, as a full service Destination Management Company serving southern New England.
Sharon started her career working in the Travel Industry organizing incentive programs for a diverse group of companies. In 1991, she became the Senior Meeting Planner for Phoenix Home Life Insurance in Hartford, CT, planning meetings nationally and internationally.
Due to growing popularity and demand for Sullivan Custom Planning, Inc.’s event design over the last decade, Sharon formed a new branch of the company- SCP Designs. SCP Designs focuses on social events, specializing in event design. Sullivan Custom Planning, Inc. has enjoyed event design success in the New England region for over ten years, and continues to thrive in today’s changing corporate climate. The secret to Sharon’s success is that she inspires, listens and understands her client’s vision.
Sharon is a passionate supporter of numerous children and animal charities. She enjoys traveling and spending her free time surrounded by friends and family.
Sharon Brouillard, Senior Event Director
With a background in the meetings and events industry, Sharon joined Sullivan Custom Planning, Inc. in 2000. She spent a year working as a Meeting Coordinator for a Tax Education Association in New London, CT. She then worked full time as a Special Events Coordinator for the Dean of Students at Mitchell College while she worked towards her Associates Degree. She graduated in 1998 with her Associates Degree in Business Management at the top of her class. She took a hiatus from the industry for two years to further her degree and graduated in 2000, Magna Cum Laude, from Rhode Island College with a Bachelors Degree in Communications and a minor in Psychology.
Her expertise in planning and creative event design has been a key factor in the success of this flourishing business. Her current duties include working with clients on meeting and design concepts and she sees an event through from proposal preparation to the final event or meeting production. She is also in charge of training new hires and has implemented a successful internship program for local students interested in the events industry. Sharon is currently involved with the RI Chapter of ISES sitting on the ISES Northeast Regional Conference Social Events Committee and is working on receiving her DMCP.
In her off time, Sharon has been known to dabble in the entertainment industry as a singer. She has also performed as a semi-professional hula dancer; learning much of her craft in Hawaii while attending a semester of school there in 1998. She also enjoys taking Kickboxing classes and is a die hard baseball fan.
Freelance and Seasonal Staff
SCP has many freelance and seasonal staff members who work events as needed. Their expertise includes meeting planners, designers, entertainers, event designers, and a large crew for installation and breakdown for event productions.
Support Staff
SCP has close affiliations with talented and creative floral and set designers, innovation lighting and sound technicians as well as caterers and gifted entertainers. We have long-standing relationships with many reputable vendors in the New England Region who have developed into great team members.
